IT'S POSITIVE!

The nurse just called. It's positive. My level is 540 so she said it's likely more than one. Two would be great...three would be challenging. I can't believe it!

What wonderful news! Congratulations! Stay positive and follow all the instructions that the doctors give you. Be proactive and ask what you can do (and what they want you to avoid) to make this a successful pregnancy and carry to term!

I don't remember what my wife's initial beta was. There's no way to tell for sure how many embryos took, and remember, that not necessarily all of them will grow. If you're worried about having more than twins, discuss it with your doctor, and, if you're worried about religious issues, our rabbi. Often, with triplets, they may recommend reduction, as triplets have a much higher occurance of premature labor, and having medical issues at birth. Ultimately, it's your decision, but it may be something to consider if having more than two really scares you.
